ATM Group has been entrusted with the management of seven cable transport systems in Lombardy, Northen Italy.

Awarded by the Local Public Transport Agency of Como, Lecco and Varese, the seven-year contract worth 11 million euro strengthens ATM’s role as a key player in multimodal mobility, expanding its operations in Italy.

In partnership with the local cable system operator ITB, ATM will establish a dedicated consortium, with a 75% majority stake and will directly manage 4 cable systems, Ponte di Piero-Monteviasco, Como-Brunate, Varese-Sacro Monte and Argegno-Pigra, while ITB will keep managing 3 cable systems, Malnago-Piani d’Erna, Margno-Pian delle Betulle and Moggio-Piani di Artavaggio.

The new contract will enhance connectivity while promoting the Lombardy territory.

With over 90 years of expertise in providing high-quality, efficient and sustainable mobility solutions for local public transport—including trams, buses, trolleybuses, and metro systems in Milan, Copenhagen, and Thessaloniki—ATM Group has also been a trusted provider of cable transport services for over 20 years.

“We are very pleased to further make available the Group's expertise in cable transport system management, contributing to the development of the territories and meeting the needs of the communities we serve” declared Arrigo Giana, CEO of ATM Group.
