ATM Group had an active involvement in the launch of the United Nations' global road safety campaign, #MakeASafetyStatement, that took place in Milan on September 2, 2024.
Led by the UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy for Road Safety, Jean Todt, and in collaboration with JCDecaux, the campaign aims to promote road safety and create safe, inclusive, and sustainable streets, amplifying the message of the New Decade of Action for Road Safety, which targets a 50% reduction in road-related fatalities by 2030.
As partner in this initiative, ATM Group hosted an intergenerational dialogue on board its Historic “Carrelli” Tram highlighting the importance of road safety measures and the need for active participation from all stakeholders.
During the event, Mr. Arrigo Giana, CEO of ATM Group, emphasized how road safety is one of the company’s major commitments, considering the major role of ATM in Milan’s mobility with 2.5 million passengers daily.
Mr. Giana highlighted the company's focus on people, through staff training and health surveillance, and technology to promote road safety, as well as the importance of raising public awareness about wrong behaviours that are often cause of serious road accidents.
